Part sculpture, part toy, all character. The Hillbilly Hotrod is a one-of-a-kind little hot rod built from a block of reclaimed wood and a set of well-loved skateboard wheels, with a story baked into every scorched grain line.
It starts with a solid chunk of salvaged wood that I char and finish so the grain rises up dark and dramatic, cracks, knots, growth rings and all. Then I mount it on four genuine used skateboard wheels, the faded pink polyurethane still carrying scuffs and road dust from a past life. A curved copper handle sits up top, and a single hammered brass tack marks the nose. Nothing here is new or perfect, and that is exactly the point. Every material is upcycled, every mark is real, and no two Hotrods ever come out the same.
At roughly 10 inches long, it fits nicely on a desk, a shelf, a mantel, or a windowsill. It is a great conversation piece for anyone who loves hot rods, skate culture, reclaimed wood, or folk art with a sense of humor.
