It starts with a solid chunk of salvaged wood that I char and finish so the grain rises up dark and dramatic, deep cracks and knots and all. Then I mount it on four genuine used skateboard wheels, faded pink for the front and faded yellow for the back, still carrying the scuffs and road dust from a past life. A curved copper handle sits up top. The real showpiece is the nose: a cluster of decorative tacks in copper, brass, and silver, hammered into a sunburst around one big ornate stud. Nothing here is new or perfect, and that is exactly the point. Every material is upcycled, every mark is real, and no two Hotrods ever come out the same.
